«In 2011, a wave of protests swept across the countries surrounding the Mediterranean. From Cairo to Madrid, young people took to the streets demanding freedom, social justice and equality. The Cultural Innovators Networks (CIN) is seizing this momentum to bring together creative thinkers from around the Mediterranean and Germany. Through an exchange of ideas and experiences, participants will take home new ideas and impact their societies through positive, cultural change. On the cross roads between culture, art and politics, the CIN asks questions about the future of our societies. How can we reorganize our social order? How can we express our demands artistically? How can we generate more participation? [...] CIN is a joint project of more than 20 Goethe-Institutes around the Mediterranean, coordinated by the Goethe-Institut Alexandria. It is a platform for communication, exchange and learning provided for young active civil society members from Europe and the MENA region.»

«One Drop Community Solutions: Educação, Inovação & Construindo Pontes Além Soluções Sustentáveis. Our principles are based on the permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care, Sharing Surplus and Promoting All Life. Sharing the surplus is an ethic that we also translate into sharing knowledge, experience and inspiration. Thus we intend to support the educational movement that recognises the need for a whole-systems and integrated balance of social, spiritual, economic and ecological sustainability. Moreover, in this field of education, we recognise that there is a rapidly growing demand for the specific need / desire to form, design and create intentional communities and ecovillages. Promoting all Life is also seen as the awakening of human consciousness that recognises that we serve Life most happily and effectively when we develop our own inner and outer harmony.»

«Innovation takes place every day in the humanitarian context. Rarely, though, have ideas about innovation been systematically adapted and applied to humanitarianism. This project seeks to improve the innovation process within the humanitarian world. Its ultimate aim is to develop a methodology for bottom-up humanitarian innovation, which can be applied at the field level. The project focuses specifically on the refugee context. Humanitarian response, especially towards refugees, has historically been based on a model of donor state-led assistance. Sometimes this has led to responses that are inefficient, unsustainable, and lead to long-term dependency.»
